Summer may be a time to relax and unwind, but it’s been no rest for the wicked over at Spank HQ — wickedly sexy, that is. We suspected our highly anticipated Pop Shot NFTs would sell out quickly — but we didn’t expect the first edition to sell out in the first 90 minutes of pre-sale! We opened a pre-sale to support all of our near and dear SPANK token holders, enabling early access through any wallet that ever touched a SPANK token on or before June 9th (6/9), 2021. Within hours, Pop Shots churned up a storm with resales going upwards for thousands of dollars. When the dust finally settled, Allie Knox’s Pop Shot came out on top with a resale value of 0.69 ETH (it’s almost a prophecy).
All of which goes to show us the power of the mighty NFT. With each resale, creators (in this case, the performers) can enjoy an ongoing revenue stream. Through this increased ownership, their brand is permanently tied to the content they create.

As much as we disagree with OnlyFans’ willingness to eliminate sexual content, the exodus of betrayed sex workers from OnlyFans presents a business opportunity for us as a crypto-forward adult company, and the tech press agrees. As TechCrunch notes:
“The porn industry has been embracing crypto payments, albeit slowly. In 2018, Pornhub first announced that they would begin accepting cryptocurrency payments. Fast-forward to 2020, when Visa and Mastercard dumped the platform; now crypto payments and ACH bank transfers are the only ways to pay for its premium subscription service. There are already a few crypto platform players in this space, like CumRocket and SpankChain, catering to niche audiences (and probably in need of rebranding), but with the OnlyFans juggernaut out of the way, there might actually be a space for an existing or upstart player to innovate and capture this market.”
SpankChain advisor Allie Knox also spoke to Decrypt about this new void in the space, and how SpankPay could fill it. With the OnlyFans rug pull getting real, the veil has been lifted. Solutions we’ve been building for the past three years are landing and ready to welcome the adult content creators we know and love.
Somewhat surprisingly, Coinbase showed support for the financial inclusion of pro-legal sex work in this article, which left a lot of unanswered questions about their own platform policies. They neglected to mention that their own TOS has a steady history of kicking off adult performers. This low-key hypocrisy did not go unnoticed, and Ameen was quick to point out their discrepancies on Twitter.
